I’ve been out here waiting on a break

Stuck in the middle of the waves

Finding hope in the shallows

I was rejected and falsely accused

My integrity was brought into question

Subjected to your gossip and shame

You slandered my reputation

Buried me in humiliation

There were days I couldn’t get out of bed

Knowing the battles, I’d face

The system violated my sense of fairness

Society can be so cruel

Begged him to bring the truth to light

Stand up to the ones that victimized

Defend me against their lies

They say His timing is always perfect

But first, I had to be prepared for his work

The misalignment tested my faith and resilience

Giving my endurance a chance to grow
