"If your voice held no power, they wouldn't try to silence you."

Do you speak the language of tears?
That's all I have left here.
No well-spoken thoughts to share.
It's impossible to vocalize despair.
My hearts an open wound, broken and bleeding out.
You're not interested in the truth, when the lies have masked my trauma.
You're quick to judge the problem, cast all your convictions upon me.
Disregard my safety.
Repeatedly interrogate me.
Raise an eyebrow when he torments but grant me no protection.
Dismiss all his actions, while you fuel his addiction.
Do you look the other way, so you won't notice all my pain?
Will your laws and endless systems, help you sleep more securely?
You justify inaction, with "poor sweet girl, you'll be ok,"
Will you lie awake tonight, wondering if I will be alright?
Should you see me on the street, will you even notice me?
Or am I just a number, a means to promote your personal agenda?
Do you ever stop to wonder, if there's anything we have in common?
When you stand before our Savior and he inquires what separates us,
will you even recall my name or the voice you have taken?
